NOBLE VOTES
Step 1: Register to Vote
The deadline to register online using a valid state ID or last 4 digits of your social security number for 2024 Presidential Primary Election is February 17th. You must be 17 years old on or before the date of the Primary Election (3/19/2024) and turn 18 on or before the date of the General Election (11/5/2024).
In Illinois, you can still register in-person at an early polling location from March 4th through March 19th, at your assigned polling place on Election Day, or at the Downtown Supersite (191 N Clark) starting on February 15. You can view all polling places, super sites, and see Early Voting Places here.
Be sure to take your ID and a piece of mail with your address along with you if you register in person. Check out the Chicago Elections website for a list of acceptable forms of ID and polling places.
If you prefer to register to vote by mail, fill out this form. The deadline to mail in this form is February 17th, 2024.
Step 2: Create a voter plan
How will you vote in this election? Because of the pandemic, making a plan for how you’ll cast your ballot is essential. You have two options on how to vote in this election: Vote by Mail and Vote In-Person
Vote by Mail
You may use this page to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot through Friday, March 15, 2024 at 5:00pm. When you apply online to Vote by Mail, the Election Board will send you emails:
- When your application is accepted,
- When your ballot is mailed to you,
- When the Election Board receives your Ballot Return Envelope, and
- When your ballot has been processed and counted.
Voters must sign the eligibility oath and date the Vote By Mail return envelope before submitting their ballot. Every signature is verified before the ballot is cleared for counting. If a signature is missing or if the signature does not match the one on file, the County will notify the impacted voter to allow the voter an opportunity to provide a valid signature.
Returning Your Vote By Mail Ballot
- Return By Mail: must be postmarked before or on Election Day, March 19, 2024. It is recommended to mail your ballot at least two weeks in advance to ensure proper delivery.
- Drop-Off at Dropbox Location
- Drop-Off at Voting Center: Voters may take the Vote by Mail ballot to any Early Voting site or their precint polling place or nearest vote center on Election Day, surrender the ballot, and then vote on a new ballot. If you have not yet received your ballot in the mail, you will be asked to sign an affidavit form and then you will be allowed to vote.
Vote In-Person
Safe and accessible in-person voting options are available.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Who can vote by mail?
Any registered voter can vote by mail. You may use this page to apply for a Vote by Mail ballot through 5:00pm on Thursday, March 15, 2024. Make sure once you receive your live ballot to not lose it; you may not be able to receive another ballot on election day or at any other early voting location.
NOTE: Any mail ballot that is postmarked after Election Day cannot be counted, by law. If a ballot envelope is placed in a US Postal Service box on or near Election Day, that envelope may be postmarked late and may not be eligible to be counted.
